1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Lanka Route website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and regulations. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you must not use our service.

2. Eligibility and Requirements

• Age: The renter and all approved drivers must be at least 23 years old.
• License: A valid national driving license held for a minimum of 2 years is required. International renters must also present a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) or an authenticated local translation.
• Documentation: Renters must provide a valid passport/national ID and a major credit card in their own name.

3. Rental Period and Use

• Duration: The minimum rental period is 24 hours. Late returns may be subject to an extra day's charge.
• Fuel: Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. Otherwise, a refueling service charge plus the cost of missing fuel will apply.
• Prohibited Use: Vehicles must not be used for racing, illegal activities, or off-roading unless explicitly permitted by Lanka Route.

4. Insurance and Liability

• Standard Coverage: All rental rates include basic Comprehensive Insurance with a standard excess/deductible amount.
• Renter Liability: The renter is responsible for the full cost of damages up to the specified excess amount per incident, regardless of fault.
• Exclusions: Damage caused by negligent driving, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, or breach of these terms is **not** covered by insurance, and the renter is liable for the full cost of repair or replacement.

5. Payment and Deposits

• Payment: Full rental payment is due at the time of vehicle collection.
• Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit (held on a credit card) is required to cover the insurance excess, traffic fines, and minor damage. This deposit is released after the vehicle is returned, inspected, and all charges are cleared.
